Description:Kuala Lumpur Festival was initially conceived with the objective of branding Kuala Lumpur as a City of Arts, Culture and Heritage.
First launched on the 30th June 2006, the Kuala Lumpur Festival has since united Malaysians of all generations and races through the spirit of creativity and solidarity. A joint effort between the Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Federal Territories (DBKL), the collaboration provides Malaysia's arts, culture and heritage a platform for international exposure. |

Here are a sampling of events organized
throughout Malaysia. Some are traditional events that have a long
history and some are newer events organized by the government to
stimulate tourism. As such, bear in mind, some are hits and some
are misses.... Of course many events are geared towards the local
population and as such the language used will be Bahasa Melayu but
don't let that hold you back - GO! (especially to any dance or puppet
show) you'll be surprised how warmly you are welcomed
World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship (WAITGC) WAITGC was organized
with the objective of promoting holiday destinations that offer
golfing facilities to both the international and local markets.
The championship is open to teams of amateur golfers.
Colors of Malaysia
Presenting Malaysia's rich culture and tradition through a showcase
of cultural activities, handicrafts exhibition, sumptuous cuisine
and resplendent costumes. The Colors of Malaysia is also displayed
throughout the country for a whole month with a variety of cultural

Food & Fruit Fiesta
Malaysia is famous for its tempting array of culinary delights,
derived from its potpourri of cultures and races. This fiesta is
held to introduce to visitors the various fruits and cuisine of
colorful Malaysia. Most of these delights are available anywhere
at anytime. The lively culture of 'makan-makan' or enjoying a hearty
meal is a fun-filled activity for Malaysians. Tourists are invited

Merdeka Day Parade
Malaysia celebrates 46 years of independence or 'Merdeka' on the
morning of 31st August with a colorful - grand parade at Putrajaya
Boulevard in Putrajaya with the theme of 'Keranamu Malaysia'. Festivities
start the night before with an open-air concert at the same venue
during the 'Merdeka Eve Celebrations' with popular Malaysia singers
& celebrities. Graced by His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong
(the King), the Merdeka Day Parade is also attended by government
leaders & members of the diplomatic corps. |
